Baby Bows Galore

So Isabelle has gotten older, you know something that babies do! Anyways, I feel that she's gotten so big now meaning this has gotten me in the mood to buy baby clothes like crazy. I've been more interested in dressing her up more and purchasing clothes because I know that she's going to be wearing them for longer unlike when she was 1-3 months and going through some major growth spurts! Even more I feel that she's older to start wearing BOW HEADBANDS!!! Yes, I'm beyond excited and I just can't hide it!

One thing I said, well Ben and I said, we wouldn't place headbands on Isabelle's head until she was a bit bigger, and we didn't want her looking ridiculous with one of those huge bows or flowers on her head. I'm sorry but i do find it funny (in a good fun kinda way) to see babies with flowers or bows that are literally bigger than their head.

Nevertheless, I quickly went to the oh so crafty Hobby Craft, by the way I love that place and loaded up on my necessary materials. I also checked out my local fabric store to pick up FOE elastic (Fold Over Elastic), which to my disappointment only has a very small selection of colors for the headbands. However, I did ring my mom (she's my go to person for EVERYTHING when I can't find something that I know will be in America, the greatest place in the world!!) and asked her to check out our craft stores to pick me up FOE elastic in every color she could find.  I managed to find a UK website that buys elastic from the US that ships. I haven't bought any from the website yet because I have a supplier on hand now (the all powerful mom).

 Felt heaven

There were many colors to choose from but I tried to keep it simple because what if I really screwed this project up. I would have all this felt and wouldn't know what to do with it!!

Well let's just say I'm quite the bow maker now!! (claps hands) After making a handful of bows I was so happy and made Isabelle try on every one I made.

What can I say, she's a great model!!

She just makes my little heart happy!!

I might have a slight bow problem now but who can resist making their kids look adorable.

Now the reason I loved making these bows so much...I only had to use a glue gun and found how to make them on Pintetest under No Sew bows. Oh did I also say that I love Pinterest!!

Well that's all folks, and have a bowtastic day!

Baby Fever

(*UPDATE* Just found out that the video can only be played on a computer and NOT mobile devices. What kind of game is this?! So this gives you a great opportunity to start using your comp again!)

I would like to say my lack of blogging has to do with getting pregnant, having a baby and sheer laziness, although they do go hand and hand. Moving on, it has been quite a year, well end to 2013 but I'm happy to see it go.  I mean 2013 is sooooo last year, so hello 2014! (cue confetti and the ballon release).

Wow, I must say 2014 looks really good!

Now the only way to really enjoy the new year is by taking a quick look back at 2013.

Finding out I was pregnant went something like this......

And then it kept going and can only be summed up in the form of a video collage. So PLAY with caution if you're the sappy type. I wouldn't say you need tissue, but there will be a little tug at your heart.

And if you're like me who rarely goes on their computer, a pic collage of our baby filled year! It just doesn't have the same effect as the video though.

After nearly a full year of pregnancy, the cutest bundle of joy was delivered to Ben and I. Now just to make sure no one gets confused or mislead. Our little bundle of joy was delivered by a team of midwives and a doctor NOT a stork which I was lead to believe.

There you have it! I would like to keep on chatting away but mommy duties never stop. I do believe I hear Isabelle calling me! Until next time, keep pushing play on that video when you need a dose of heart tugging cuteness!

Razzle Dazzle Makeup Compact

Quite recently I was in the mood to just bedazzle the crap out of something, so I got to thinking.

“What's something I basically use everyday but hate the way it looks?”

Answer came quick enough….My horribly looking pressed powder compact that I just absolutely hate. Its this ridiculously ugly white compact container that I literally only pop out behind closed doors and even then I’m hiding even more just to make sure no one witness my need for perfection with an ugly compact…It’s just that UGLY!!! Why do companies do that? Do they intentionally set out to make the most boring, unattractive powder cases ever?!

I would post a picture of it BUT it's just that ugly!!!! However, here's one that borders on ugly.

Okay maybe it's not that ugly, but it's quite boring. Sorry but you're just not an eye catcher!

There should be a vendor machine where you can choose the powder of your choice and have the ability to decorate and make it as girly as possible! I mean for the girls who are not as girly, continue buying those plain ugly compacts. More power to you!

Well until makeup companies come out with an awesome machine that has the ability to make a plain to fab compact. I have to take matters into my own hands.

Think about it…

I pop out with this!!!

Yes, be green with envy or red your choice :)

I mean come on!! If all cases were so awesomely pretty you’d probably see millions of girls happily fixing and checking their faces on trains, buses, street corners, restaurants or just sitting at home on the couch looking at themselves because its just that PRETTY. But then again you probably wouldn't be fixing your make up, but a vain attempt to show off your pretty compact case. I would!!

See!!! It's love at first sparkle!

It takes about 30 minutes of your time and you will be the envy of girls, even compacts will look at your compact with envy and awe!

What you need: Gem-Tac Glue. Lots of pretty, sparkly rhinestones and tada!!! You have a custom made compact like no one else’s.

Snowman Nails

There hasn't been any snow in our part of England, no snowballs, snow angels, snowflakes, nada. I get on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram and I see everyone's awesome pics of snow. Beyond jealous, I want snow!!

So I brought the snowballs, and snowmen to me.

We recently got this cared in the mail and this inspired this lovely super easy nail design

The colors: BarryM 'Blueberry', Pure Ice 'Super Star', LA colors orange & black, & Collection 2000 frosty black, and red.
I always use the same tools; toothpicks and a buisness card.

And now the easy part, it looks like it's hard, but its really not.
Here's my snow without all the chills.

Enjoy!!

The super easy task here is: Nothings has to be perfect. I mean what snowball is perfectly circle.
Also instead of me using black for the eyes, buttons, and arms, I used the frost black by Collection 2000 in 'All that Jazz' and used the black for the hat.

Tada! Snowmen and snow! Now slap on a topcoat to make it shiny and last long. I usally wait about five to ten minutes before I put my topcoat on though. It keeps the colors from mixing.

There you have it, looks hard but its not :)

X-mas Nail Tutorial: X-mas Lights

So December is here, tree's are being decorated, Christmas songs are being played on the radio, and Christmas lights are being hung on trees, windows, buildings and nails.

So here's my early gift to you, a really easy simple nail tutorial.

Christmas Light nails :)

I've seen a couple nail designs with lights on pinterest, but came up with a easier less complicated way. Enjoy!

The colors. I used frosty colors because it gives more of a shimmery effect.

Toothpicks, and business cards. See those random business cards you have in your wallet can be put to good use. Nail polish swatches!!

Always use a base coat. I love Sally Hansen's Double Duty.
Used white as my background color, but green would look really neat also and would look like tree decor just don't add the socket part.

Using the toothpick just drawn lines, and for the socket just a square and two lines down.

And the lines don't have to be perfectly proportioned because you can cover the messed up parts with the lines you use to attach the lights.

Adding the lights in a color order, draw them like your making a "C" with a pointed end. That's the easiest way to do it.

After all the bulbs are drawn on, I add white streaks on each bulb to give it more of a dimension. Slap on a top coat and you're bringing in the christmas cheer.

And there you go. Super Easy. Also to give it extra holiday cheer feel add one coat of a sparkly silver confetti color.

My mission this month is to do a new easy nail design each week.

No Cod-ing Around

First, let me start of by mentioning a very important quote from a very influential man. That way you can see this blog post as being educational and informative....So a great man once said, "If you're not first, you're last" No explanation needed.

Very Motivational, but there is always 2nd place right?! Anyways, Ricky Bobby wouldn't be pleased to know that my suggestion of coming in 2nd place is worthy or close to coming in first

To be quite honest, this post isn't about anything BUT food and well my husband, (recently Ben asked if my blogs would be targeted at him or making fun of him. Pretentious of him huh? He can be concieted at times). This is all about fish and chips my friend, picked and hand fried to perfection for you tummy's pleasure.

Welcome to Number 1 Fish & Chips

Let me start of saying that my husband believes that the best fish and chips shop is a mere eight minute walk from our flat, and the kicker its called 'Number 1 fish and chips'. Now I don't want to rain on his parade but he's clearly delusional. While I have only lived in England not barely three months I can clearly state for the record, that shop is not number 1. Not saying that their food rating is low its, a 5 and has been voted best fish in chips for two years. But being honest, I've tried many fish and chip shops on numerous occasions and I've heard the same thing come out of his mouth. Okay okay maybe I'm being to rash, he has said once that one place just was terrible somewhere in Haddenham. Maybe the fries just weren't cut to his liking. While fish and chips are the thing of England, I feel that that frozen cod from the freezer section that some people might not call food taste better than the supposedly 'number one' fish and chip shops are dishing out. Or to put it mildly, I think that they all just taste the same.

Okay I will give them some credit. Their ration of fish sauce 'cough cough' vinegar that’s so strategically poured over the contents of my happily wrapped food in paper does make all the difference.

So, it’s the sauce that gives it that bland to oooh so yummy taste to my carefully wrapped with care fish and chips. Its all in the sauce 'vinegar' my friends, you can find it at you local supermarket. I'll happily place some store names at the bottom of this blog post to please the eager customers searching for that special flavor that makes the meal go from zero to HERO.

These pics are just here to make you hungry.

Did it work?!...

However, I will give this shop a thumbs up, it has the vibe of an old fish and chips shops and not being so mainstream, but that old traditional town shop, if that makes sense, which I love!

I will have to say though, having the fish and chips shop has become convenient. Their located very close to our flat. I don't know what that will do to my husbands waistline in the future or mines because I do enjoy the chips...A LOT!
